West Norfolk Befriending is an exciting scheme set up as a partnership between three voluntary agencies

The aim of the service is to provide companionship and a listening ear.

The three charities saw a need to provide a joint Befriending Service in the West Norfolk Area.  

The partners are aware that many people in this area feel lonely and isolated.   In many cases social contact is missing and a Befriender calling on clients in their own homes can be a lifeline.  

The rural nature of West Norfolk, and the way that many people move here to retire, makes the problem worse.  

The Befriending Scheme recruits and trains volunteers to enable them to visit people who are isolated as a result of age, hearing loss, or because they are a carer
